Late Summer Sunshine

The light in mom's and dad's room is taking on that late summer softness in the early evenings. The blinds are open wide so that mom can enjoy it. Her days are spent with visits with special friends (Marjorie and Towner from Florida) and family, some new music - Bob Marley in honour of Caribanna and Rod Stewart singing standards (thanks Maureen), and her favourite tv shows.

Mom is getting a bit more confused and we high five when she 'finds' a challenging word. Her spirits are very good right now.

We celebrated Aunt Janie's birthday with a special party (hats, banana cake and presents) last week. It was a classic mom moment...she smiled her way through the whole thing and was very pleased to be a part of it. She continues to love planning for and enjoying special celebrations.

The cards she receives are read daily. If you're the person who opens them, there is often a nice conversation that follows involving fond memories of the sender. We continue to be thankful for all of your support and your thoughts.
